David P. Benedetto

David Benedetto brings a wealth of tax law and estate planning knowledge to Stewart & Irwin.

His interest in the tax aspects of estate planning emerged during his undergraduate accounting studies at Syracuse University. David completed his Doctor of Jurisprudence at Indiana University School of Law, and then continued honing his skills in his chosen practice area by completing the University of Miami School of Law Graduate Program in Estate Planning.

“Creative use of the law has always appealed to me–I enjoy being able to look at things that are complicated and reshape them in a different way to benefit my clients,” David shared.

To this end, David works to help business owners and other consumers optimally structure their dealings to legally avoid paying too much in taxes. He also advises clients on estate planning and asset management. David also has substantial litigation experience and enjoys litigating matters relating to wills and trusts.

Through his partnership with Stewart & Irwin, he is able to practice an area of law he truly enjoys with a group of attorneys he respects.

“At Stewart & Irwin, I´m a shareholder who is allowed to work with autonomy. Here, I´m able to bring the sophisticated estate planning tools and techniques I learned in south Florida to the firm´s Indiana clients, while still striking a work-home balance,” David shared.

David lives in Carmel with his wife and three children.
