Michael P. Shanahan

With his primary focus in automotive law, commercial law, litigation, tax and estate planning, Michael P. Shanahan brings niche expertise about the automotive industry to Stewart & Irwin. Shanahan's direct and diverse knowledge about automotive law was garnered during his previous employment as an accountant at K.B. Parrish & Company and as the financial director of a large Indianapolis Honda dealership.

Shanahan started his education in the United States Air Force, where he served for six years. He was honorably discharged after receiving numerous awards, including a National Defense Medal.

He continued his education with a bachelor's degree at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business. His educational determination allowed him to graduate top in his class. An unrelenting drive to further his education led him to a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis. Currently, he is a member of the Indiana and American Bar associations, the Indiana CPA Society, the Venture Club of Indiana and a number of other organizations.

"My greatest personal accomplishment is having a wife and two boys. Without them, all the hard work doesn't matter," he says.

Outside of the office, Shanahan is a sports enthusiast, actively participating in bowling, golf, softball and tennis. His newest endeavor is the sport of triathlon.
