Suzanne S. Newcomb

The addition of Associate Suzanne Newcomb to Stewart & Irwin further adds to the firm's robust and experienced employment and labor legal team.

Suzanne laid the groundwork for her career in law with her undergraduate studies at Indiana University, earning bachelor's degrees in both Political Science and Economics. She then continued her studies at Indiana University School of Law, Indianapolis, earning her doctorate of jurisprudence in 1997. At Stewart & Irwin, Suzanne litigates Federal and State Court discrimination claims and other employment related disputes, as well as representing clients before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and state and local civil rights agencies.

"My ultimate goal is to ensure that employers and employees communicate effectively, prevent misunderstandings and avoid disputes that could lead to litigation," Suzanne explained. "My background representing plaintiffs helps me to understand disputes from both sides, and allows me to maintain fairness across the board."

In the event a labor dispute does escalate to the courtroom, Suzanne is a skilled litigator with a wealth of trial experience. In a prior position, one such case resulted in a $3.5 Million jury verdict for her client – one of the largest employment–related jury verdicts in Indiana history.

When not working, Suzanne enjoys outdoor adventures with her husband and son, including camping, hiking and canoeing. She also spends time renovating and restoring her family's 100–year–old home.
