Tom uses his expertise in litigation primarily for cases involving commercial disputes, torts and administrative hearings. He's also well-versed in handling appeals in state and federal courts.

Known as an attorney who is equally strong in research, writing and litigating, Tom's diverse talents allow him to serve both plaintiffs and defendants.

Tom was part of a team that successfully took a drunk driver's insurance company to court and obtained a strong financial verdict in favor of the wife of the man the drunk driver killed. Tom crossed to the defense table in another case to defend a truck driver accused of negligently crashing into a man and seriously injuring him. A jury exonerated the truck driver.

"Both of these cases are important, not because of the money at stake, or because they established groundbreaking legal principles. Because my clients were treated unfairly, I was able to give them vindication, which also gave me tremendous satisfaction."

Tom received his doctor of jurisprudence degree from the Indiana University School of Law, Indianapolis.

Tom has been highly involved with his son's school, Little Star Center, a private, nonprofit school for autistic children based in Carmel. He has helped the school with fundraising and public relations.

It's close to my heart," Tom says. "It's one of the more fulfilling noncareer-oriented endeavors I've been involved in."
